Nunca es demasiado tarde / It’s Never Too Late

Nunca es demasiado tarde
(I saw this phrase on a coffee mug once, and it changed my life.)
Those simple words sparked something in me—a deep realization that my story wasn’t over and
that I could take radical action to shape the life I wanted.
- At 29, I went on a service trip to Europe for the first time.
- By 30, I was going back every year, sometimes alone, sometimes with my family.
- At 37, we packed up our lives and moved to Spain—with no set plans to return to the U.S.
- At 40, I went back to school and finished my undergraduate degree.
- At 42, I graduated with a master’s in counseling.
- At 43, we moved back to the States and launched two nonprofits.
- At 44, I completed a second master’s degree, this time in writing.
- At 46, I work a job that I love in the nonprofit sector, while also running my own business that
allows me to operate in my God-given strengths.
Through it all, there have been incredible highs and devastating lows. I’ve learned that no season
lasts forever, no matter how much we wish it could. Change is inevitable—but it’s also powerful.
What I know, deep in my soul, is this: nunca es demasiado tarde / it’s never too late.
It’s never too late to go after the dream you’ve tucked away.
It’s never too late to book the trip you’ve always longed to take.
It’s never too late to make that career pivot, to start over, to try again.
Whatever is calling to you—big or small—say yes.
You are worth the effort, the risk, and the belief that beautiful things are still ahead.
